Stretching approximately 77 kilometers (48 miles) in length and narrowing to less than 8 kilometers (5 miles) at its widest point, the island rises to a peak elevation of 270 meters (890 feet) above sea level.

Roatan enjoys a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 80°F (27°C). The surrounding waters remain warm year-round, typically ranging between 78°F and 84°F (26°C - 29°C).
Roatan operates on Central Time and does not observe daylight saving time. Both English and Spanish are commonly spoken among residents and merchants.
The official currency is the Lempira, though credit cards and U.S. dollars are widely accepted, provided bills are in good condition—free from tears or markings.
Electrical outlets deliver 110-120 VAC, compatible with standard U.S./Canada two-prong plugs.
Roatan is home to a busy international airport (RTB), with daily flights from multiple airlines including Delta, United and American.
